2006 Membership Campaign
Hello,
My name is Benjamin Clemente and I am an elected member of the Board of Directors of WARC. This year, the Membership Committee thought it would be a great idea for me to be the chairman of our membership campaign
because I can tell you just how important it is to support the work WARC does. I should know, I have been part of the WARC family for 14 years.
I started at WARC in 1991. I was taught good work skills and got a job as a bagger at Stop & Shop. My WARC job coach trained me on my job and stayed with me until I was sure I could do it without any help. After that, my job coach would stop in once in a while just to see how I was doing. When I retired in 1996, I came back to WARC. I work a bit to earn some money and I can go out on day trips, take art lessons or even play the bongo drums in the Rhythmic Arts program. WARC has a lot of daytime work and activity programs, an extended day and after care program, and even weekend programs that help out families.
It was a big honor for me when I was elected to the Board of Directors. I'm starting the first year of my final term as a Director, so I am happy to be able to do something special to help. I hope I can make this year's membership campaign the biggest ever. To do that, I really need your support. Please consider becoming a member of WARC.
Thank you,
Benjamin Clemente

WARC is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1950 to serve the needs of children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in the Greater Waterbury Area. WARC's programs are funded in part through the Connecticut Department of Mental Retardation, Department of Education and Department of Rehabilitative Services. However, WARC must rely on the generosity of corporations, private foundations, civic groups and the general public to provide the financial resources to help sustain, supplement and expand services and further its mission. As a membership organization, WARC relies on generosity of people like you for support through annual memberships, tax deductible donations, bequests and even car donations.
Please consider renewing your membership of becoming a first time supporter. We need all of you to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities and their families.
